Riley Butler

Riley Butler completed his 2nd season as the Seton Hill Women's Soccer head coach in the fall of 2024, where he finished 4th out of 9 teams in the PSAC conference and made the conference tournament for the 4th time in school history.


Butler most recently was an assistant coach at Illinois State University, where he spent one season.  While at Illinois State, Butler was part of a new staff that took over prior to the 2022 season.  He helped to fill the program's recruiting classes for 2023 and 2024. 
 
Prior to Illinois State, Butler was an assistant coach at Saint Francis (PA) for two seasons.  He served as the recruiting coordinator while organizing and executing training sessions.  Butler also ran the school's camps and clinics and oversaw student athlete academic status. 
 
Butler spent three seasons as an assistant coach at the University of Pittsburgh before moving to Saint Francis.  Riley began his coaching career at Radford University where he spent four seasons as an assistant with the men's program.  Radford won three conference titles and appeared in the NCAA Tournament during his time coaching. 
 
Butler played collegiately at Jacksonville University where he was a part of an Atlantic Sun regular season champion in 2007 and was on the 2008 A-Sun Tournament championship team that advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.  Riley graduated from Jacksonville in 2009 with a degree in Marketing and Management.  After graduation, Butler played three seasons for Jacksonville United and helped the team to a NPSL National Championship in 2010. 
 
As a club coach, Butler has worked with the Pittsburgh Riverhounds, New River United, and Jacksonville FC.
